In-house Accountant

Location: Hangzhou 杭州话

Job type: full time, permanent

You are: 

A self-starter with a positive and professional approach, who is adaptable, open to change and suggestions, with a confidence to offer evidence-based solutions. 

You speak fluent Mandarin and English and have proficient knowledge of accounting principles, experience in group consolidation. 

The Opportunity:

You will be held responsible for running an integrated internal finance and accounting function in China.

In this role, you will drive local budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow management, financial risk monitoring, and financial reporting to group and local management.

This role will proactively identify and capitalise upon cost-saving opportunities. You will manage external parties and liaise with the local tax and other financial authorities. You will also review and improve upon financial procedures.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Participating in the annual budgeting process and proactively monitor budgets across all functions in the local business
  • Providing and interpreting financial information
  • Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and FX exposure, analysing change requirements 
  • Proactively managing financial risk and developing management mechanisms to minimise financial risks.
  • Preparing local statutory accounts for China, HK and local management accounts 
  • Producing finance reports to the Group Finance, and taking ownership of the financial closing and consolidation processes.
  • Ensuring tax compliance in China and HK.
  • Managing the annual audit for China and HK.
  • Managing local banking relationship, payroll service provider and other external advisors.

Required skills:

  • Excellent proficiency in English.
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with 3-5 years PQE, a degree in accounting, finance or business.
  • Experience with budgeting and cost control, as well as a proven track record in cost management.
  • Good understanding of local tax and regulatory regime.
  • Good understanding of multi-currency operations and hedging strategies.
  • Experience in a multi-national environment
  • Strong financial modeling and financial analysis skills.
